Fallugia paradoxa, commonly called Apache Plume is a drought tolerant, hardy perennial shrub native to the Southwestern deserts. It is a member of the Rose family and is found at elevations between 3,000 and 8,000 feet, and is cold hardy to 30 degrees below zero, once established!
Apache Plume is named so because it looks like Apache war bonnets. Native Americans used the stems of Apache Plumes to make brooms and arrow shafts.
